LAMAS Presents “About Face” at Syracuse Architecture Lecture Series in New York City
LAMAS presented the lecture About Face at the Syracuse University School of Architecture Fisher Center in New York City on February 28, 2023. Vivian Lee & James Macgillivray’s talk was part of the school’s public lecture series, which brings visiting architects, designers, and researchers into dialogue with students and the broader architectural community.
The Syracuse Architecture lecture series in New York City is a recurring program that features international practitioners presenting ongoing work, research, and design thinking across architecture and related disciplines. Held at the Fisher Center in Manhattan, the series is positioned as an extension of the school’s academic environment into a public-facing forum for contemporary architectural discourse.
The lecture reflects LAMAS’ broader practice, which spans built work, research, and experimental representation. In this context, About Face engages questions of architectural image, material perception, and the role of representation in shaping design thinking, connecting the studio’s built projects with its ongoing research-based work.
