Azure Magazine Features LAMAS’ Rural Home in Quebec’s Eastern Townships

LAMAS’ rural residential project in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, Virgin Vineyard House, has been featured in the January/February 2023 print issue of Azure Magazine in the article “Modern Rural: LAMAS Creates an Intergenerational Home in Quebec’s Eastern Townships,” written by Odile Hénault. The feature was also published online in December 2022.

The article situates the project within contemporary rural architecture in Canada, focusing on how the home responds to landscape, climate, and everyday patterns of living in a rural context. The design is described through its relationship to the site’s topography and a long, defining stone wall that organizes the spatial arrangement of the house.

The project reflects LAMAS’ interest in rural construction as a dialogue between permanence and adaptation, where architectural elements are used to structure both landscape and domestic life over time.
