LAMAS to Host BEAT Talk with Vivian Lee and Kara Verbeek

Wei-Han Vivian Lee and Kara Verbeek will host a BEAT Talk at the LAMAS office in Toronto on April 29, 2026.

Organized by BEAT (Building Equality in Architecture Toronto), this event will explore how architectural ideas move between academia and practice, with a focus on the role of research, craft, and vernacular construction in shaping contemporary work.

Lee and Verbeek will reflect on how teaching, speculative research, and built projects inform one another, particularly in the context of rural architecture. The discussion will consider how typology, materiality, and sustainability connect historical knowledge with present-day construction.

The event will be held at LAMAS’s office and includes a lecture followed by a reception.
