Townships Farmhouse Included in AR House Awards 2018 Shortlist by The Architectural Review

Townships Farmhouse by LAMAS was included in the shortlist for the 2018 AR House Awards by The Architectural Review. The project is located in North Hatley, Quebec, and was selected as part of an international shortlist announced in June 2018 recognizing outstanding residential architecture from around the world.

The AR House Awards highlight innovation and excellence in domestic architecture, with a focus on projects that push the residential type through new spatial, material, and contextual approaches. The 2018 shortlist brought together 16 houses from diverse geographic and cultural contexts, with the jury evaluating entries based on originality, spatial invention, and relationship to site and landscape.

Townships Farmhouse engages the rural landscape of Quebec’s Eastern Townships through a composition of barn-inspired volumes organized around a central courtyard. The project draws on agricultural building typologies to structure domestic life, framing long views, seasonal change, and outdoor–indoor relationships as key drivers of the architectural organization.
