Avling Kitchen & Brewery Wins Best Bar of the Year at the 2020 FRAME Awards
Avling Kitchen & Brewery by LAMAS received the Best Bar of the Year award at the 2020 FRAME Awards. The project is located in Toronto, Canada, and was recognized in February 2020 as part of FRAME’s international awards program celebrating excellence in spatial and hospitality design.
The FRAME Awards highlight work across architecture and interior design through a global jury and public voting process, with the Spatial Awards focusing on how environments shape experience across hospitality, retail, and cultural settings. Avling Kitchen & Brewery was recognized for its integrated approach to food production, brewing, and hospitality within a single adaptive reuse project in Toronto’s Leslieville neighbourhood.
The project transforms a former grocery store into a layered hospitality environment where brewing, dining, and cultivation are closely linked. A rooftop garden, visible production spaces, and a materially expressive interior strategy connect agricultural sourcing with public experience, reinforcing a continuous relationship between making and consumption.
