Toronto Townhouse Receives Best of Design Award in Interior Residential at the 2022 Architect’s Newspaper Awards
Toronto Townhouse by LAMAS received the Best of Design Award in the Interior Residential category at The Architect’s Newspaper 2022 Best of Design Awards. The project is located in Toronto, Canada, and was announced in December 2022 as part of AN’s annual program recognizing built and unbuilt work across architecture and design disciplines.
The Architects Newspaper Best of Design Awards highlight projects selected through a jury process that evaluates submissions based on clarity of concept, innovation, and design execution across a broad range of categories. The Interior Residential category focuses on projects that meaningfully transform domestic space through spatial organization, material strategy, and light. Toronto Townhouse was recognized for its interior reconfiguration of an existing urban dwelling typology.
The project works within the constraints of an existing townhouse structure, introducing a vertical spatial strategy that connects levels through carved voids and circulation. Light is drawn deep into the interior, reshaping the perception of the compact footprint and creating a continuous domestic sequence across floors.
