LAMAS Selected as Finalist for MoMA PS1 Young Architects Program with “Underberg” (2014)
LAMAS was selected as a finalist in the 2014 MoMA PS1 Young Architects Program (YAP) for its proposal Underberg. The competition is organized annually by The Museum of Modern Art and MoMA PS1 in New York, inviting emerging architects to design a temporary installation for the PS1 courtyard as part of its summer programming.
The Young Architects Program highlights experimental architectural proposals that engage environmental performance, public space, and temporary construction. Finalist teams are selected from an international open call and are invited to develop site-specific projects that respond to the cultural and climatic conditions of the PS1 courtyard in Queens, New York.
LAMAS’ proposal Underberg was developed as part of this competition framework, engaging ideas of temporary spatial construction, atmospheric conditions, and adaptive public environments. The project reflects the program’s emphasis on speculative, lightweight, and experiential architectural systems within a highly public institutional setting.
