LAMAS Presents ACSA Conference Paper on AI, Machine Learning, and Architectural Composition
LAMAS announced its participation in the ACSA Annual Meeting in 2018 with a conference paper focused on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and architectural composition. The presentation was part of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture’s international academic conference program.
The ACSA Annual Meeting brings together architecture educators and researchers from North America and beyond to present peer-reviewed work on design research, pedagogy, and theory. The 2018 program included papers exploring emerging computational methods and their implications for architectural form-making and representation.
LAMAS’ contribution examines how machine learning techniques can be used as generative tools within architectural design processes, focusing on composition as a system of trained relationships rather than fixed formal outcomes. The research positions computation not only as a representational tool, but as an active participant in shaping architectural decision-making.
