D5 MAG Features LAMAS’ Le Spa Manoir Hovey Renovation and Expansion
Le Spa Manoir Hovey was featured in D5 MAG in the article “Adding a Luxurious Spa to a 120-Year-Old Canadian Manor.” The feature presents the project as a contemporary wellness addition integrated into the historic Manoir Hovey estate on Lake Massawippi in Quebec’s Eastern Townships.
The article focuses on the challenge of inserting a new spa program into a heritage property originally constructed in 1900 and inspired by George Washington’s Mount Vernon residence. LAMAS’ design is described as carefully embedding the spa into the steep lakeside terrain while maintaining the prominence and architectural character of the original manor building. The project’s colonnades, vaulted passages, and stone base reinterpret historical references through a contemporary architectural language tied to the surrounding landscape.
